Duck Fights

We fed the ducks here in Greatwood today. Pretty sure we started a few duck fights. To be fair, we tried to spread the bread evenly between all of them.

Morning Thoughts

Marilyn was sleeping through the night until about 2 weeks ago. Now she is back to waking up every 4-5 hours. Not fun. Last night she went to bed at 9:30, and woke up to eat at 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. When she woke up at 6, I was hoping she would go back to sleep, but she didn't. So, I was up at 6 a.m. with her. She fell back asleep at around 8 this morning, and now I'm wide awake. The exciting thing about this morning was that she rolled over for the first time. I layed her down on the bed and she promptly rolled onto her side and then right over onto her stomach. Amazing!

So, we are having wood floors put down in our living room, dining room and den next weekend. I'm really looking forward to getting rid of our dog pee colored carpet and cheap laminate floors. Our next project is the master bathroom. It's one of those bathrooms that has carpet in it and just a little tile next to the bathtub and shower. Why they put carpet in a bathroom, I will never know! Steve wants me to go to Home Depot and pick out new tile. By myself. Those of you who know me well know that I can't even pick out a nail polish color by myself, let alone tile for the bathroom floor. Plus, I have learned in the past 3 years of being married that he has much better taste than me. We'll see what happens.

I have MSNBC on right now, as usual, and they are doing a report on how old John McCain is. Apparently he has his staff show him websites because he doesn't know how to use the internet. There are too many things wrong with this. First of all, my grandma is older than him and has no problem using the internet. Maybe she should be president. Secondly, why doesn't he just try to learn how to use it? It's not like it's that hard. Do we really want a president who won't learn to use the internet? Is he too lazy? Does he think it's just too hard? Is he saying that he thinks using the internet is more difficult than being the most powerful leader in the world? Scary.

Oh, To Be as Carefree as a Dog

Scarlett spends her days relaxing...

More Pictures of Our Cutie

Her "real" clothes are starting to fit her!

She always looks so surprised by the camera flash.

Scarlett loves Marilyn.

She doesn't look quite as tiny in her car seat anymore!

It's been a while...

So I started this blog thinking that I would be constantly updating it, posting pictures, etc., but I realized that having a new baby gives me time for NOTHING! So at this moment, Marilyn and Steve are both napping, and I have a little time for an update. Marilyn is almost 3 months old now. I can't believe how quickly she is growing! She now weighs 12 pounds and she is growing longer and longer in length. She takes after her dad. She'll probably be taller than me by the times she's 10. She's smiling and laughing constantly. The other morning, her laughing was so loud that it actually woke me up. As for Steve and me, we are doing well. I've been enjoying spending the summer at home with Marilyn. We watch a lot of MSNBC and Lifetime movies. I've been doing a lot of house cleaning, and I've been trying to do a lot of cooking, but that's not going to well. Marilyn's Aunt Katie will be coming to visit soon, so that will be great! I go back to work in the middle of August and will be teaching 4th grade at Dickinson Elementary here in Greatwood. I'll be working 2 miles from home which is great! My sister Vikki and her family (Mike, Jaxon and Jasmine) moved to Greatwood a few months ago which has been wonderful! We have loved spending time with them and I will actually be teaching at Jaxon's school.
